Hello and welcome to my resource website!

I have been a High School math teacher since 2010, teaching all through grades 9 to 12. In the early years I would spend many (too many!) hours preparing activity resources that I could use to help my students review the topics in a way that would allow repetition but in an engaging and fun way.

The resources I have developed cover a range of abilities suitable and through year 9 to year 12 honors; these resources reflect the needs of the classes I have taught myself.

Although most of my resources are intended to be fun activities and are designed as games, challenges, puzzles, and project activities, they are still thought through to be rigorous education resources. The questions are differentiated, and I attempt to include a wide array of questions to ensure students are exposed to a variety of problems. I like to keep some focus on ‘mastery’ with similar but incrementally different questions often featuring in the activities.

In designing these math resources, I have wanted to create activities that will engage ALL students. When I first started creating them this was a big motivation for me to have activities that would still allow me to review the learning but would draw back in some of the harder to reach students whilst we all had fun!

The resource activities can almost all be used by individual students or used as cooperative group activities.

I hope that these resources can now be used to make life easier for you as a teacher by allowing you access to ready-made math activities to incorporate into your lessons. Hopefully this will allow you to create engaging lessons with some of the resources you need with minimal planning time.

In addition to being a math teacher my students are often surprised to find out that I am also a human being! I have a wife …

two daughters ….

(here hiking to Fossil Lake in the Beartooth Wilderness, MT – beautiful and highly recommended trail!)

and a dog!

I am very excited to share these resources with you and your students. They have been downloaded around the world and have received very positive feedback. I have recently started to teach part-time and although I still love teaching, I am excited to be able to use my extra time to continue being creative with this project.

Best wishes to you all!

John
